Rustic, traditional

We designed this vegetable pavilion as part of the Chelsea Flower Show. The folly was featured as an eco building which could be adapted to any environment using local building materials. The shelter, inspired from English countryside aesthetic could be enjoyed as an open  room within a garden or a place to prepare homegrown vegetables or for al-fresco dining.

The structure is made of a simple timber and dry stone construction used traditionally in English summer houses. Glass panels are used under the roof to allow natural light while protecting the interior from rain. A wild meadow green roof provides insulation, cool indoors and a haven for wildlife. The wooden beams were reclaimed from barns of a Cotswold estate and the fireplace from Cotswold stone.
